How does it work?

Ongoing, there will likely be some maintenance, building out of workflows, performance analysis and testing–as well as campaign specific email marketing with their own unique goals.

We can work with you on the entire process, or just a specific aspect of it. If you have the team in-house to continually produce and develop email marketing campaigns, then we can ensure they’re best equipped to do this. If you require us to look after your email marketing on an ongoing basis, then we can work on a retainer–utilising all resources at our disposal to produce all creative content, analyse performance and implement accordingly to ensure your marketing spend is used effectively.

    & FAQ’s

    • Email marketing is a digital marketing strategy where businesses use email to communicate directly with their customers or potential customers. It involves sending targeted messages, promotions, updates, or newsletters to people who have opted in to receive them. The goal of email marketing is to build and maintain relationships, increase brand awareness, and ultimately drive sales or desired actions, like signing up for an event or making a purchase.

What makes email marketing powerful is its ability to reach people in their personal inbox, creating a direct line of communication. Unlike social media, where algorithms decide what users see, email allows you to deliver your message straight to your audience. With the right tools, emails can be personalised, so instead of sending the same message to everyone, you can target specific groups based on their interests, behaviour, or previous interactions with your business.

For example, if you run an online store, you could send a customer who has abandoned their shopping cart a reminder email to complete their purchase, potentially offering a discount to encourage them. Or, if you’re a service provider, you might send an email campaign with valuable tips and tricks related to your field, keeping your business top of mind when they need your services.

Emails can also be automated, meaning they are sent out based on certain triggers, such as a customer’s birthday or a subscription renewal reminder. This automation ensures that your marketing efforts are consistent and timely without requiring manual intervention every time.

Ultimately, email marketing is an efficient and cost-effective way to nurture relationships with your audience, providing them with useful, engaging content while driving business results.

    • Email automation is a tool within the broader scope of email marketing that allows businesses to send pre-set emails automatically when triggered by specific actions or events. Unlike traditional email marketing, where businesses send out mass emails or newsletters at a set time, email automation runs in the background and delivers highly relevant, timely emails to individual recipients based on their interactions with your business.

For example, if someone signs up to your website, an automated welcome email can be triggered instantly to greet them. Similarly, if a customer adds items to their online shopping cart but doesn’t complete the purchase, an automated email can be sent to remind them of their abandoned basket. Automation also allows for more complex workflows, such as sending follow-up emails based on a customer’s actions, like clicking on a link or making a purchase.

The key distinction between email automation and email marketing lies in how and when emails are sent. Traditional email marketing is usually more general and involves sending a single email or a series of emails to a large group of people at a scheduled time—think of newsletters or promotional campaigns. Email automation, on the other hand, is dynamic and reacts to customer behaviour in real time. It creates a personalised experience for the recipient, making it more relevant and impactful.

By setting up automated workflows, businesses can nurture relationships with customers at different stages of their journey, without requiring manual effort for each interaction. This not only improves efficiency but also ensures that customers receive timely, tailored content that can help drive engagement and conversions.

    • An automated email workflow is a series of emails that are automatically sent to a recipient based on specific actions they take or certain conditions being met. It’s like a pre-planned journey that your customers go through, triggered by their behaviour or interactions with your business, without the need for you to manually send each email. This could be actions like signing up for a newsletter, making a purchase, or even abandoning a shopping cart.

For example, let’s say someone subscribes to your mailing list. An automated workflow can start with a welcome email, followed by a sequence of emails introducing your products or services, tips on how to get the most out of your offerings, and maybe a discount or promotion after a few days to encourage a purchase. The key is that once the workflow is set up, everything runs on its own.

The beauty of an automated workflow is that it allows for personalisation at scale. Instead of sending one general email to everyone at once, you can tailor emails to individual recipients based on their actions and preferences, ensuring they get the right message at the right time. For instance, someone who has made a purchase could receive a follow-up email with product recommendations, while someone who abandoned their cart might get a reminder email with a discount offer.

Automated email workflows save time, increase efficiency, and help businesses build stronger relationships with their customers by delivering relevant, timely content. It’s like having a continuous conversation with each customer, but in a way that’s manageable and scalable.

    • Email marketing segmentation is the process of dividing your email subscribers into smaller groups, or segments, based on certain criteria. This allows businesses to send more relevant, targeted emails to specific groups of people, rather than sending the same message to everyone. The idea is that not all subscribers are the same—different people have different interests, needs, and behaviours, so tailoring your emails makes them more engaging and effective.

For example, if you run an online shop, you might create segments based on customers’ past purchases. You could send a special offer on baby products to customers who have previously bought baby items, while sending a different offer to those who prefer electronics. Other common ways to segment email lists include location, age, gender, interests, or how recently someone interacted with your business.

The benefit of segmentation is that it allows you to provide content that is more relevant to each recipient. This increases the likelihood that they’ll open the email, engage with the content, and take action, such as making a purchase or visiting your website. For instance, someone who regularly opens your emails might receive more frequent updates, while someone who hasn’t engaged recently could receive a re-engagement email designed to spark their interest again.

By personalising emails through segmentation, businesses can build stronger relationships with their audience, improve email performance (such as open and click rates), and ultimately drive more sales or engagement. In short, segmentation helps ensure that you’re sending the right message to the right people, which leads to better results.

    • Email marketing and automation are versatile tools that can be used by businesses of all sizes and across various industries to engage customers, build relationships, and drive sales. For small businesses, email marketing provides an affordable way to stay connected with customers, send regular updates, promote offers, or share news. Automation can help streamline processes, such as sending welcome emails to new subscribers or birthday offers, without requiring constant manual effort. This saves time and ensures consistent communication, even with a small team.

For medium-sized businesses, email marketing and automation allow for more sophisticated strategies. They can segment their audience into different groups based on interests or behaviours, delivering tailored content that speaks directly to each segment. For example, a clothing retailer might send specific product recommendations based on previous purchases, while a service business could send reminders about appointments or new service offerings. Automation can also help with more complex workflows, such as nurturing leads over time with a series of educational emails that guide potential customers through the sales funnel.

In large businesses, email marketing and automation become critical for managing large volumes of customers and data. These businesses can use automation to handle a wide range of interactions, from onboarding new clients to sending follow-up emails after purchases. Large companies can also use automated workflows to run complex email campaigns across different regions or departments, ensuring personalised experiences at scale. For instance, an e-commerce giant might use email automation to manage cart abandonment reminders, upsell opportunities, and post-purchase follow-ups, all while analysing performance to continually improve results.

    • Our standard payment terms for most projects are a 50% deposit at the point of booking, and the final balance due under standard NET30 terms upon completion. Any adjustments to the project (such as additional requirements or removed images), will be reflected in the final 50% payment.

For very large projects, we bring the the deposit down to 25% to minimise the up-front cost. We don’t have a threshold for this change and is done on a case-by-case basis depending on the size of the project and any up-front costs required by us (such as booking models/locations etc).

For very small projects (usually under £500 + VAT), we will likely invoice the full amount up-front at the point of booking. Again, this is done on a case-by-case basis.

    • If you’re a retained client, your payment terms will be clearly laid out at the beginning of the 12 month contract. Generally, this would be 12 equal payments across a 12 month period, with each month’s payment due on the last working day before the following month’s work is carried out. For example, a payment made by September 31st would be for all work carried out in October. The first month’s payment might be larger than other months, depending on when the retainer start date is and when work is carried out. For example, a retainer started on September 15th with work required immediately would need 6 weeks worth of payments up-front, to cover until the end of October. The payment then due by the end of October will be back to the original retainer schedule.

This will all be detailed and illustrated at the point of quoting and before any commitment.

Any costs outside of the retainer will require your approval, and the cost of which would be applied to your next invoice.
